Dear Therapist,
Thank you for giving some thought
to volunteering your professional time to Community Counseling
Center. We have been providing therapy to San Luis Obispo County residents
who otherwise could not get needed services since 1968. We've been able
to do that because of the continuous gift of time of therapists like you.
Our clients are men, women, and couples, families and children who do
not have insurance, are low to moderate income and are not appropriate
for County Mental Health services. Clients pay on a sliding scale basis
for up to ten sessions, based on their ability to pay. No one is turned
away due to an inability to pay.
Beyond the intrinsic reward of offering
your services in this needed and beneficial way, we do offer some support
to our therapists. For example, we do refer to your private practices
those who have insurance and are looking for a therapist. If you can make
arrangements with your CCC client, you may take that client into your
practice after the initial ten sessions. In addition, for each hour you
volunteer for CCC, you have an hour's free use of one of our rooms in
San Luis Obispo. We publicly recognize your volunteerism, demonstrating
your commitment to the wellness of our community. Besides, we really admire,
respect, and take care of you the best way we can! If you're interested,
please give me a call. I'd love to talk to you.
Sincerely,
Binah Polay
